Moisturizer

A good facial moisturizer should be more than just something you dab on after cleansing and before applying sunscreen. This one fills the bill—in large part because of its one-two punch of potent antioxidants. "Like many effective moisturizers, this one contains ingredients like shea butter to lubricate the skin and humectants such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture," says judge Lisa Donofrio, M.D. But what really impressed her was Pro-Vita C's 10 percent concentration of L-Ascorbic acid (the most stable form of vitamin C, which can be absorbed into the skin without losing its effectiveness). "Vitamin C is one of the best-known ingredients used to fight free radical damage caused by pollution and sun exposure," Donofrio explains. Also included is the antioxidant superoxide dismutase, a promising anti-ager that usually isn't seen in nonprescription skin treatments.
